Incantives are visual incantations capturing intricate calligraphic patterns woven into spells on scrolls and paper talismans. Offered at altars or as written prayers, they become promises of protection, prosperity, and power. To harness their delicate magic, I bind light onto prepared paper surfaces with arcane script, then gild the edges shut.

Each incantive is divined as it is formed, wielding intention within the rhythm and movement of its sigil featuring a personal script drawing from multiple styles of writing, such as Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Thai, and Hindi. Many of these are prepared from mementos and old keepsakes collected throughout my life, and to bring new life to each one I layer the memory of what was into what becomes - spells are most powerful when they harness the yearning heart.
